Jethro C.

Sometimes you can meet very cool people during fashion shows (believe me, not all people are so interesting and cool as it seems: lots of them are a pack of stupid freaks)...

(Do you know who his father is, don't you?)

Details

My favourite details seen in Milano:
Valentino studded pumps worn by Giovanna Battaglia;

fabric and colours combination chosen by Garance for Dolce & Gabbana show;
Angelo Flaccavento's elegant bow tie.
This is what I mean when I say style...

Two Women

What else?
Their style talks.
I feel honoured to have met my two favourite directors and style icons ever: they're simply great!

The way you wear your hat...

The way you wear your hat

The way you sip your tea

The memory of all that

No, no they can't take that away from me

It was the year 1937 and Billie Holiday's intense voice sang one of George Gershwin greatest classic song.
When I found myself at Bettina's stand during White Fair in Milan, this song suddenly came into my
mind and I also thought how a hats can be so precious in outlining style, personality and charm in a man
or woman.

It is an accessory that complete any kind of look and you need a certain disposition if you want to wear it.
Not everybody can because of its showy nature and it doesn't allow any kind of shyness.

The hats in the pictures are from new 2011 s/s collection by Bettina, historical hat factory created
in Florence by Raffaello Bettini and Primo Papini in 1938.
Their light colours, the workmanship, their rétro shapes remind me of those roaring twenties described i
n Francis Scott Fitzgerald books, and I think they would be perfect on some character in Big Gatsby style,
or on a cheeky flapper.
Personally I like them all and I wouldn't know what to choose: mannish for a tomboy style
or feminine and coquettish?

...meanwhile I wait for springtime, I cannot separate from my winter hats!

The way you wear your hat
The way you sip your tea

The memory of all that
No, no they can't take that away from me

L'Autre Chose...

Sorbet colours, strass embroidery, navy stripes, soft shapes, a very rétro taste. L'Autre Chose 2011 spring/summer collection represents the quintessence of a graceful femininity, a little coquettish and very parisienne woman. I liked it very much: not only for its rétro taste, but, above all, for quality and practicality of pieces.
I fell in love with little marinière and flapper dresses, embroidered and denim wedges, romantic and innocent nightwear.
I already know it will be hard to choose only one thing.
And you, what do you suggest?
Meanwhile here some snapshots took last saturday at the presentation in a beautiful and elegant flat in Via della Spiga, Milano, among strawberry sorbets and a lot of good lounge music...
